Dissolve 132.1 g of ammonium sulfate in water and dilute to 500.0 mL with the same solvent (Solution A). Carefully and with constant cooling stir 14 mL of sulfuric acid into about 400 mL of water; allow to cool and dilute to 500.0 mL with water (Solution B). Mix equal volumes of solutions A and B. Adjust the pH if necessary.
